Youth Music

Every Wednesday @ 5:00 p.m.  -  1.5 hours

Do you know a talented, musical teen? Encourage them to consider St. Paul’s Youth Music programme! It’s a fun way to meet other youth, to participate in the life of the Church, and to build confidence.

We meet every Wednesday at 5pm to learn and practice the musical skills essential to leading music in a church setting. Youth learn how to read, improvise, arrange, and perform music ranging from contemporary praise music to traditional hymns. Youth also learn essential band/ensemble skills and relevant music theory and music appreciation.

The group is led by Ian Koiter (BMus Honours). In addition to being St. Paul’s youth & young adult pastor, Ian also serves as musical director for Juno-award winning artist, Shad, as well as the popular Toronto-based collaborative musical event, Practice.

Youth are required to attend weekly rehearsals, help lead worship at youth gatherings. For new members, an audition is required. Please contact Ian for more information.

This relaxed service of worship is held in the Sanctuary and blends the best of modern and classical music and prayer. Teachings are biblical and relevant to your everyday life. The Bridge celebrates communion every week by sharing in the bread and wine. This community is made up of a diverse group of people who are learning how to follow Jesus in the city. We offer lively and growing children and youth ministries, as well as a chance to connect over coffee after the service.

Our Nursery is equipped for babies so you can drop in and feed or change your little one. Or come for a visit to the Nursery, meet our staff and volunteers and find out if your baby is ready to stay. Parents are welcome to accompany their child at any time. The Nursery Team will locate you in the service if they are unable to settle your child.

Youth Music

Do you know a talented, musical teen? Encourage them to consider St. Paul’s Youth Music programme! It’s a fun way to meet other youth, to participate in the life of the Church, and to build confidence.

We meet every Wednesday at 5pm to learn and practice the musical skills essential to leading music in a church setting. Youth learn how to read, improvise, arrange, and perform music ranging from contemporary praise music to traditional hymns. Youth also learn essential band/ensemble skills and relevant music theory and music appreciation.

The group is led by Ian Koiter (BMus Honours). In addition to being St. Paul’s youth & young adult pastor, Ian also serves as musical director for Juno-award winning artist, Shad, as well as the popular Toronto-based collaborative musical event, Practice.

Youth are required to attend weekly rehearsals, help lead worship at youth gatherings. For new members, an audition is required. Please contact Ian for more information.

Many people are keen to manage their money, but often don’t have the skills required to do so.
The CAP Money Course is a great place to start. The course, which teaches budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system, was devised by Christians Against Poverty.

In our October edition of Young Professionals, we are going to watch a video from RightNow Media which addresses career-related challenges facing many of us today: career burnout, feeling undervalued, or that perhaps we're not on the right career path. The video offers ideas about how to navigate challenges like these, and how faith can inform a healthy work-life balance.

The St. Paul’s Young Professionals group is a great, casual way to connect with other young professionals in our community. As our group continues to expand, we hope you can join us on the last Thursday evening of each month - and feel free to bring a friend!

Regent Park Community Dinner

Saturday October 26th, 2019 @ 4:00 p.m.  -  1.5 hours

Several times a year we partner with Church in the City in Regent Park to offer a hot meal on a Saturday evening to about 400 people. Sometimes we prepare, serve and clean up the main course and sometimes we provide drinks and dessert. Children, usually ages 9 and up, who can follow directions and move about independently, are also invited to serve along with their guardians.

Our choir is a community that offers its musical gifts in the service of God at St. Paul’s and new members are always welcome. Many members of our community also offer their instrumental gifts in helping to lead worship. Contact our Music Director if you are interested in serving in this capacity.
