Summer BBQ 2016

Posted on July 27, 2016

For the past two weeks we have been hosting our Summer BBQ. It started last year in celebration of the Pan American Games and proved to be a great way to connect with the surrounding community. We decided to try it again this year.

The Summer BBQ provides an opportunity to reach out to those who work and live in our neighbourhood. We share information about our upcoming courses and programs and invite visitors to become more familiar with our facilities.

As always our menu, prepared by Chef Omari, has been delicious! Omari went with a Southern theme which includes mouth-watering specials such as Grilled Shrimp, Pulled Pork, Tangy Slaw and Homemade Cornbread.

"I enjoy experimenting with different ingredients and creating new menu options." said Omari. "The Summer BBQ provides an opportunity to cook for new people and hopefully make a lasting impression."

Several of our own parishioners dropped in and brought their friends. We were also joined by groups from surrounding businesses and passers-by who saw our sign on Bloor Street.

Tomorrow, Thursday, July 28, is the last day of the BBQ for this year and we encourage you to invite your friends. Come and enjoy some great food. It runs from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. but come early as we have been known to run out of the favourites.

Thursday's Specials:
Chicken & Ribs with Cornbread
Salmon with Pita

Vegetarian Option:
Grilled Seitan "Chick'n" & Mushrooms with Pita

All served with Corn & Black Bean Salad on Greens

The Summer BBQ has been a success again this year and we thank all those who participated.
