Youth & Young Adult Pastor
St. Paul’s Bloor Street (SPBS) is a vibrant Anglican church located in the heart of downtown Toronto. We are looking
for a professional, outgoing, dependable and enthusiastic individual with a passion for people and a strong desire to
serve, learn and grow. As a member of our ministry team, the Youth & Young Adult Pastor will report to the Senior
Minister (Rector) and be responsible to plan, coordinate, and lead the youth & young adult ministry program,
including ages 12 through 30 inclusive, both on Sunday mornings and gatherings throughout the week. As the leader,
the Youth & Young Adult Pastor is highly relational as a Pastor who prays and interacts with youth and their parents,
young adults, ministry team and church members to ensure the ministry program integrates with the overall ministry
of SPBS. This role is one of equipping—our youth, their families, young adults, and leaders to serve as followers of
Jesus.
Key Functions:
Youth Ministry
  • Develop, lead and organize effective youth ministry programs implementing fellowship, worship, biblical teaching,
discipleship, and evangelism, as well as ministry and mission opportunities.
  • Recruit, train and mentor volunteer youth staff and leaders with diverse gifts and personalities, always seeking to
equip them for ministry leadership.
  • Maintain contact with students and parents, keeping them informed of ongoing activities. Keep parents updated
on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership and involvement.
  • Present a yearly youth & young adult ministry budget proposal.
Young Adult Ministry
  • Develop, lead and organize effective young adult ministry programs implementing fellowship, worship, biblical
teaching, discipleship, and evangelism, as well as ministry and mission opportunities.
  • Research, plan and potentially start a worship gathering geared to a young adult community.
  • Encourage and support small group involvement geared to the young adult demographic.
  • Provide counseling and spiritual direction to youth & young adults on an individual basis.
Team Ministry
  • Commit to the vision, core values and mission of SPBS and become creatively involved in its development. Further
develop and assist in the implementation of the governance model and adaptive strategic ministry plan.
  • Attend the weekly Ministry Team and Weekly Worship Meeting for prayer and planning
  • Seek to integrate youth & young adult ministry into all phases of church life to create a culture that is
intentionally intergenerational, striving to unite with and complement other church ministries.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • A baptized follower of Christ, active in the life of the Church and regularly attends worship when able.
  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of St. Paul’s Bloor Street.
  • One who is gifted and called to youth and young adult ministry, loves Jesus Christ and young people, and has a
passion for evangelism and outreach, both personally and at the ministry level.
  • Ability to work as part of a ministry team.
  • Experience in youth & young adult ministry
  • A self-motivated leader, capable of creating, executing and casting a long-term vision for the youth & young
adult ministry, possessing relational skills with students, parents, and staff.
  • Organized, values boundaries, ability to recruit, coordinate and empower persons in ministry.
  • Relational style of leadership and ministry
  • Willing to submit to a Police background check and comply with the policies of St. Paul’s
Availability:
  • This is a full-time position, Sunday – Thursday, with benefits.
