Prayer and Care

Prayer

If you need prayer to help you in your current life stage, there are a few ways to join us or ask for prayer at St. Paul’s:

  • Our Prayer Team is available to confidentially pray with and for you after the 9:30 am and 11 am service in St. Paul’s Chapel.
  • You are welcome to join members of our Prayer Team who meet once a month, on the second Monday of each month from 7 to 8 pm from June to September.
  • Submit prayer requests by filling out a Connection Card available in each church row or at St. Paul’s Central in the Atrium.
  • Contact Karen Isaacs to request being added to the Prayers of the People read on Sundays, or the Prayer Chain (prayed for throughout the week by our prayer team).

Music for
Health

Music for Health is an exercise clinic program run by Dr. Corene Hurt-Thaut, a neurologic music therapist at the University of Toronto. Sessions will incorporate Neurologic Music Therapy techniques to help improve physical fitness (balance, strength, endurance, range of motion) in a fun and supportive environment. Each session will incorporate a spiritual aspect by beginning with prayer and closing with a hymn.

The clinic is suitable for you if you live with Parkinson’s disease, any kind of acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy, or multiple sclerosis. It’s also good for healthy seniors who want to stay fit and reduce their risk of falls and injury. Please note that your physician’s approval is necessary to participate in the clinic. Those with mobility devices need to be independent with them. Please bring comfortable clothing and shoes for exercising, as well as a water bottle.

Cost: $10 donation per session. Scholarships are available.

Upcoming Dates: January 10 – March 27, 2020 at 11 am.

Our pastoral team is available to meet with you if you’re grieving, sick, or dealing with other life difficulties. We offer help from a Christian perspective, and can make referrals to grief counselors or support groups like GriefShare if necessary.

As well as personal support, St. Paul’s provides a year-long bereavement support program through four booklets, Journeying Through Grief, that are sent out at regular intervals.
